Cloud Commerce Pro launches OnBuy Partnership

March 9, 2020

OnBuy

Cloud Commerce Group is pleased to announce a new partnership with OnBuy.com, powered by direct integration between its Cloud Commerce Pro product and OnBuy, one of the fastest-growing marketplaces in the world and the largest UK-founded marketplace.

Cloud Commerce Pro CEO, Mike Morgan, shared: “We are delighted to be integrated with OnBuy. We have been working together for some time to make this integration happen. OnBuy is a great way for Cloud Commerce Pro sellers to acquire new customers at low cost with no risk.”

Why we decided it was time to partner with OnBuy

Simply put, OnBuy is flying. With a major venture capital investment this year, several new awards including Retail Without Borders and 5x year-on-year growth, OnBuy are making noise and attracting a lot of attention in the business community.

The company says its success is down to a fair and transparent model, keeping fees reasonable for sellers, not competing with sellers and continuously improving the OnBuy experience. In turn, this helps make a better marketplace for shoppers through continually reduced prices, more categories and deals rolled out regularly, and consistent delivery of choice.

The appeal to sellers seems pretty simple:

Competitive selling fees mean you can price lower and attract more buyers without eating into your margin.
You get paid immediately. On item dispatch, PayPal (OnBuy’s payment processor) will release your funds directly into your account – you’re not kept waiting for your money.
You can sell with no risk. If you make less than £500 a month, OnBuy will waive the next month’s Standard subscription fee.
All sellers get an additional layer of security and peace of mind through PayPal Seller Protection.
OnBuy will never compete with you. OnBuy is a marketplace, not a retailer, which means you have their full support in growing your business.
OnBuy has a dedicated UK-based Support team on hand should you need any assistance with your account.

One of the most exciting things about OnBuy is that they plan to go global this year. While they were originally set to launch 22 countries in 2020, they’ve recently upped this to 41! All with a promise to give sellers full control over which countries they can be visible in and what rates they want to sell for. OnBuy even says they will perform translation and currency conversion if that’s what sellers want – or not if they don’t! That kind of freedom for a seller means that we think OnBuy will be a hit.

OnBuy founder and CEO Cas Paton commented: “OnBuy has so much untapped potential and we’re confident that as our expansion rolls out, we will become the largest-reaching global marketplace. In the UK alone, we are expecting 50 times growth over the next few years. Factor this in with our globalisation, and our 5 percent market share is set to be extremely achievable. We’ll continue to work closely with PayPal to ensure that our global marketplace is safe, secure and reliable while giving sellers full control on where they are visible, how they price, and whether they want us to do translation and currency or not.”

How much does it cost to sell on OnBuy?

From our perspective, this integration is available with immediate effect. We’re not charging for connecting to OnBuy because we see this as a great opportunity for our users to grow their businesses over time.

To celebrate this exciting partnership and integration, OnBuy is also waiving its fees. OnBuy will waive the first month’s Standard subscription fee and enroll sellers onto its Sales Guarantee: if you don’t make £500 in sales in a month, the next month’s subscription fee is waived.

Less and less sellers need this guarantee, however it makes for a zero-cost, risk-free selling opportunity!
